The Park’s Finest offers premium quality BBQ with an island flavor from the Philippines to give a unique take on an American family cooking tradition. We serve hefty plates of savory meats that have been smoked for hours upon hours. The Park’s Finest taste is delightfully distinct as cuts of beef, racks of ribs, chicken, and pork are rubbed with conventional Filipino spices are paired with our own BBQ sauce that we’ve bottled. We’ve even created our own special take on cornbread by combining this BBQ classic with rice flour to carry elements of a traditional Filipino dessert, bibingka. Our food is comforting and is served generously for families and friends to enjoy during good times.
The Park’s Finest was grown from 20 years of experience and family tradition. Johneric Concordia is devoted to the tradition and innovation of BBQ. From a long line of family cooks, “Farmer Johneric” began his passion for BBQ as a boy, taking on the responsibility of the fire at family gatherings with the supervision and guidance from his kinfolk. Since then, he has developed his technique and style to the time-honored American art of BBQ paired with the secret sauce that has been passed down for generations, rooted in flavors from the Philippine islands.
The Philippines is a lush tropical region with a rich culture of fiestas and outdoor eating. With fresh ingredients abound, the Concordia family BBQ sauce traces back to Johneric’s father, “Big Tony”, who experimented with ingredients that created a flavor that appealed to his Filipino palette. The natural sugars from cane and pineapples are simmered with soy sauce, peppers, and spices that linger after every delectable bite. This established the base flavor of the sauce that has been passed on to his sons and grandchildren, leaving each to further experiment and create their own variations to the Concordia sauce.
With a background in community organizing and event production, Farmer Johneric has developed essential skills to successfully manage numerous social functions ranging from small group gatherings to large-scale events. These same skills are applied to his catering and food preparation techniques as can be attested to by his growing following of BBQ enthusiast clientele.
Farmer Johneric is a product of Philippine roots, Downtown Los Angeles soil, and Southern California sun. With a kitchen that was always cooking – friends and family were always finding themselves with a full plate and an on going debate about which Concordia sauce reigned supreme.
Growing up in Echo Park’s Historic Filipinotown, Johneric would roll out with his long time BBQ comrades to a comic book shop on Glendale Blvd. and Park Ave. called “World’s Finest.” The Park’s Finest is not only a homage to the community where the Concordia family took roost, but a guarantee that -
